Artist Bio

Dymphna Lanjuran is a Malaysian artist of Kadazan heritage whose oil paintings transform florals and water into meditations on resilience, renewal and belonging. Active in the arts since 2014, she has exhibited in Malaysia and Indonesia while championing inclusive initiatives that create space for neurodivergent artists. Her compositions often draw strength from delicate forms and fluid movement, creating a quiet tension between fragility and endurance. Under the mentorship of senior artist Yeo Eng Peng, Dymphna continues to develop a distinctive visual language where nature becomes both subject and emotional refuge.

Ems Diana is a Kuala Lumpur-based visual artist whose paintings are charged with colour, light and emotional movement. Formally trained in business management, she pursued her artistic direction through studies in Contemporary Art at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, alongside mentorship with established London-based artists. Nature—its horizons, skies, oceans and shifting light—provides an enduring source of inspiration, while expressive gesture and rich surface give her works their distinctive vitality. For Ems, painting is an intuitive language through which memory, vulnerability and renewal can be transformed into luminous visual experiences.

Roslina Abu Bakar brings together artistic practice, cultural memory and a lifelong connection to creative education. Once an art teacher and now a full-time independent artist, she draws deeply from the visual richness of Malaysian flora and the intricate heritage of batik, reinterpreting familiar motifs through a personal contemporary lens. Her work carries a sense of rootedness while remaining open to exploration, celebrating the beauty of identity, tradition and the evolving role of women within the arts. Each composition becomes a meeting point between what is inherited and what is newly imagined.

Rube Jamal is a Malaysian artist whose artistic journey spans more than five decades, with a practice shaped by sustained exploration and a deep commitment to painting. She holds an MFA from Maryland and has been exhibiting since 1972. Her works reflect an enduring engagement with abstraction, where colour, form and composition become vehicles for personal interpretation rather than fixed narratives. Across generations of Malaysian art, Rube’s continued practice offers a distinctive perspective shaped by experience, intuition and an artist’s lifelong conversation with the canvas.
